Internship Offerings

BCI INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 

BCI provides paid internships for Johns Hopkins Ph.D. students and Postdoctoral Fellows at 12+ host sites in 5 career categories. A full list of our 2023 internship offerings can be found in the BCI Internship Opportunities Excel document, as well as below. Applicants from Johns Hopkins' School of Public Health, Whiting School of Engineering, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Medicine are encouraged to apply.

BCI's annual application period is currently open with an application deadline of JANUARY 18th 2023. Interviews begin in February 2023, with flexible start dates throughout 2023.

How do I apply?

Follow these 3 easy steps! 

  • Step 1: Choose the internship(s) that interest you most out of this BCI Internship Opportunities Document (these opportunities are also listed below).
  • Step 2: Meet with Dr. Braun to develop your resume and cover letter. Complete an Intent to Apply form. Email the Intent to Apply form to Dr. Amy Braun at abraun5@jhu.edu prior to submitting your cover letter and resume on Handshake.
  • Step 3: Upload your cover letter and resume to Handshake using the links in the BCI Internship Opportunities Document (these links are also provided below). Submit your application on Handshake by January 18th, 2023. Please connect with Dr. Amy Braun via email at abraun5@jhu.edu before submitting your application. 

If you are applying for multiple internships, you will need a separate cover letter and tailored resume for each opportunity to which you are applying.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2023

 

Check out BCI's internship offerings for 2023 below! Unless stated otherwise, all internships are full-time and 3-months in duration. All internships are paid, either matching what you currently receive for your JHU stipend and benefits or paying you directly through an hourly rate at or above what you currently receive for your stipend and benefits. Companies offering part-time internships, visa sponsorship, or opportunities specific to postdoctoral fellows are indicated in the BCI Internship Opportunities Document and below. 

To apply, first email Dr. Braun your completed Intent to Apply form. Next, follow the Handshake internship description link in the BCI Internship Opportunities Document under Column E titled “Handshake Link – Apply to Internship Here” (Handshake links are also provided below). Upload your cover letter and resume on Handshake, then click “Submit”

Email Dr. Braun the names of 1-3 of your top "dream" internship host sites, and she will help you create materials needed to "pitch" yourself as an intern to those sites.
